Once you have an idea, you're ready to start testing. You'll hear us refer to "testing" many times throughout this handbook. What we mean is evaluating whether or not your beliefs about your business idea opportunity are true. Running a startup is one long series of tests, so this is a skill you will use for years to come. We will do our first test by talking directly to our customers.
In the next step, Step 2: Customer, you will hone in on the types of customers who are most likely to want to use and buy your product. Then, you'll get even better at talking to them by doing many more structured customer interviews. We'll focus on that in Step 3: Interviews.
